In working towards the achievement of its vision, the KZN Department of Arts and Culture defines its mission as follows:
To provide integrated arts, culture and heritage services for the people of KwaZulu-Natal by: Developing and promoting arts, culture and heritage in the province and mainstreaming its role in socio-economic development.
